F.C. Volna Soroca

In 1996 there was a team in Soroca called F.C. Tiras Soroca that was nearby relegated after the season of Divizia A. The club withdraw during the winter break and dissolved.

The nowadays club F.C. Volna Soroca was found under the name F.C. Soroca and played in Divizia B during the season 2003/2004. After gaining the 11th place in the teable, the club doesn´t show up for the next season. From 2007 till 2009 the club played again in Divizia B, but relegated after the season 2008/2009 when a new club called F.C. Dava Soroca appeared.

Soroca is an old town at the Nistru-river. In the 15th century, Ştefan cel Mare built a castle which is nowadays one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Moldova. The town has 28.400 inhabitants and is an important centre of the industry. Many busses go from Chişinău to Soroca, which is about 160 north of the capital.

The stadium is located in the lower part of the town on the sourthern city entrance. It lies directly on the main street, opposite of a small market place. The stadium has a main stand on the western part, where you can find painted wooden bleachers that were painted in 2004.
