After F.C. Roma Bălţi went bankrupt in 2001, F.C. Universitet Komrat bought the starting place in Divizia A. The club renamed U.S.C. Gagauziya (Universitatea de Stat din Comrat Gagauziya Komrat) in 2003 and since summer 2009 the club is called C.F. Găgăuzia Comrat.

Comrat is the capital of the 1.832 km² autonomic region Gagauziya. The stadium is at the northern end of the town, close to the big lake. You´ll find a main stand with some old wooden bleachers and a small covered tribune on the western side of the pitch. Opposite of it there is only remaining a old concrete terrace where the wooden bleachers were deinstalled many years ago.
