Before 1969 there was just a simple sports pitch at the area in Strada Metropolit Varlaam. Then the government constructed a stadium between 1969 and 1974. One year later, the Stadionul Orăşenesc could be officially inaugurated. The wooden bleachers, which once were painted in national colours, are damaged much today as the local politicians do not really care about the stadium. Often it was promised to repair something, but in the end nothing happened. The stand has 12 rows of wooden bleachers on each side of the building in the middle. The seating capacity is about 1.672.
