The club F.C. Codru Călăraşi was found 1992. The name Codru comes from the forest in the hilly part of Moldova, north of Chişinău. They started 1992 in the second level. After the quick promotion to Divizia Naţională the club played till 1997 in the top level. In 1993/1994 they made a good cup round and lost only in the semi-final against F.C. Zimbru. After the 1996/1997 season the club lost the relegation match against Stimold-MIF Chişinău and relegated to Divizia A. The club renamed itself to F.C. ULIM-Codru Călăraşi. ULIM is the short version of Universitatea Liberă Internațională din Moldova, which is the International Independent University of Moldova. Probably ULIM-Tebas Chişinău, a club from the capital´s University merged with F.C. Codru. Because after only one season in Divizia A the club was renamed again to F.C. ULIM-Tebas Chişinău. One year later, still in Divizia A, the club dropped the name Tebas, which came from the TV-sets facturer Tebas. After the relegation of Divizia A in 2002 the club dissolved.

The stadium of Călăraşi is located close to an old park, opposite of the former open-air discotheque. From the central bus station, follow the Strada T. Ciorba and turn right at Strada Bojole to find the park. Ask for Casa de Cultură to find the way easily. Nowadays the stadium is not used anymore by a club. From 1992 till 2002 F.C. Codru Călăraşi (later F.C. ULIM Chişinău) used the stadium.
