The airport of Chişinău (Aeroportul Internaţional Chişinău) is only a few kilometers south of the city border. If you drive past it, the village of Floreni lies to the left side. In November, 2004 the former club name F.C. Roso Floreni made many press announcements in Europe. In the league match against F.C. Politehnica-U.T.M. Chişinău, Floreni’s club boss Mihail Macovei went ballistic after there was a controversial penalty decision of the referee. He sat down in his Audi 100 and hunted the referee Vitalie Onică. When the enraged president was stopped by the only present policeman, the match was abandoned. The Three points were counted for the guests from Chişinău. The Football Federation of Moldova gave a penalty-fee of 25,000 Lei, what is “only” about 1,500 Euro, but in Moldova it´s an average yearly salary. The amount had to be transferred up to the 10th December of that year to the bank account of the Football Federation; otherwise an exclusion from the league would have been taken into consideration. Well, in any case, from the next season on, the club was renamed as F.C. Floreni. However, this all did not take place in the village Floreni, because there is generally no football pitch. The club plays its home matches in the village of Anenii Noi, 20 kilometers southeast of the capital. Besides F.C. Floreni there is also a local football club, but F.C. Codru Anenii Noi sends only a women's team to the competitions of FMF. F.C. Floreni suddenly withdraw from the Divizia A season 2008/2009 in November after not playing the home match with the local rival Intersport. In 2009 another club in Anenii Noi appeared: C.S. Anina.

The ground can be seen from the main road R2 that leads from Chişinău to Bender. Enter the village of Anenii Noi and take the first small road at the bus stop to the left. Behind the small market is the way to the stadium. Only the southern side of the pitch has a stand. There are two seating sectors on the right and an old terrace to the left of the main building. On the area where the ground is situated nowadays was once a small lake. In 1981 they pumped it dry and build the sports pitch. It is planned to reconstruct the eastern part of the main stand and let it look similar to the other one. The four old flood light masts are still remaining, but unfortunately not in use anymore.
